Terms of Use

Welcome to D1Ball. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and D1Ball (“D1Ball,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your access to and use of d1ball.com and its content, features, and services (collectively, the “Site”). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

Informational Purpose Only

D1Ball provides college sports information — including scores, schedules, rankings, rosters, statistics, recruiting information, and transfer-portal data — for general informational and entertainment purposes only. Nothing on the Site is offered as professional, betting, financial, or other advice, and you should not rely on it as such. Do not use D1Ball as the sole basis for any wagering or financial decision.

Data Sources and Accuracy

Much of the information on the Site is aggregated, compiled, or derived from third-party sources, including publicly available data and providers such as ESPN and other sports data feeds. We do not create, control, or independently verify all of this information, and it may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate.

• Scores, statistics, and standings may be delayed and should not be treated as official or real-time.
• Rankings, ratings, and projections are estimates and reflect methodologies that may change.
• Team names, logos, and marks referenced on the Site are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification and informational purposes only.

No Affiliation

D1Ball is an independent platform. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the NCAA, ESPN, any conference, any member institution, or any other data provider referenced on the Site. All trademarks and content belong to their respective owners.

Acceptable Use

You agree that you will not:

• Use the Site in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
• Scrape, harvest, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Site using automated means, except as permitted by our robots directives or with our prior written consent.
• Copy, reproduce, redistribute, sell, or commercially exploit content from the Site without authorization.
• Interfere with, disrupt, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, its servers, or its networks.
• Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security-related features or advertising on the Site.
• Use the Site to transmit malware or engage in fraudulent, harmful, or abusive activity.

Intellectual Property

The D1Ball name, logo, design, original written content, and the selection, arrangement, and presentation of information on the Site are owned by D1Ball and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Underlying sports data and third-party marks remain the property of their respective owners. You may view and use the Site for your personal, non-commercial use only.

Third-Party Links and Advertising

The Site contains advertising and may link to third-party websites and services. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, products, privacy practices, or availability of those third parties. Your interactions with advertisers or third-party sites are solely between you and that third party. See our Privacy Policy for details on how advertising and cookies work on D1Ball.

The Tape: Recruiting Profiles and User Content

D1Ball’s recruiting section (“The Tape,” at /recruiting and /recruit) lets a parent or legal guardian publish a high-school athlete’s profile and link to their game film. This section governs everything you submit there (“User Content”). It applies in addition to the rest of these Terms.

Who May Create a Profile

• Only an adult who is the athlete’s parent or legal guardian may create, manage, or publish a profile. The athlete is the subject of a profile, never the holder of an account. There is no athlete login.
• Profiles are for athletes in grade nine or above. We do not accept profiles for younger children, and we will remove any we find.
• By creating a profile you represent that you have the legal authority to do so for this athlete, that the athlete is aware of the profile, and that you have obtained the athlete’s own agreement where the law of your state requires it. We record who consented, to what wording, and when.

What You Submit, and Your Responsibility for It

A profile is a small set of facts — name, graduation year, high school, state, sport, position — plus links to video that already lives on YouTube, Hudl or Vimeo. We never accept a video file. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you submit and for having the right to submit it. You agree not to submit:

• Any contact information for a minor — no phone number, email, social handle, or address — in any field, including a video title.
• A minor’s home address, daily schedule, or the time and place of a future practice or game.
• Film, images, or text you do not own or have permission to post, or that identifies another athlete without their guardian’s consent.
• Fabricated statistics, offers, rankings, or affiliations.
• A profile for someone whose guardian you are not.

The License You Give Us

You keep ownership of your User Content. So that we can run The Tape, you grant D1Ball a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, store, display, reproduce (for example as an embed or thumbnail), and distribute your User Content on the Site and in its feeds, only for the purpose of operating and improving the service. The license is limited in ways we consider part of the deal:

• We will not sell, rent, or license your User Content, or the athlete’s identity, to any third party.
• We will not use an athlete’s name, image, or film in advertising or to promote a product, including our own.
• We do not permit our recruiting pages to be used to train artificial-intelligence models, and we instruct known training crawlers not to fetch them.
• The license ends when you unpublish or delete the content, except that copies may persist in caches for a short period, and we keep the consent, review, and takedown records the law requires us to keep.

Video you link remains on the platform that hosts it, under that platform’s terms, and is shown here through that platform’s official embed. Removing it there removes it here.

Review, Removal, and Deletion

• Every profile and every clip is reviewed by a person before it appears anywhere public. Until then it is visible only to the guardian who created it.
• You can take a profile private in one click at any time, and you can delete it entirely. Deletion is permanent.
• We may remove, decline, or take private any User Content at any time, for any reason or none, without notice. We will do so for anything that violates this section, and we may close the account of anyone who submits it.
• Anyone can report a profile or clip, with no account and no email address required, at /recruiting/report. Copyright and likeness requests use the lanes described at /copyright and /takedown.

Coaches

Coach access is granted only to people we have verified against their school’s own published staff directory and who control an address on that school’s institutional domain. A coach account lets you watch film. It does not let you contact an athlete, and no athlete or guardian can contact you through us. Families see only an aggregate count of programs that watched, never which. You agree not to use the Site to contact a minor, to circumvent any recruiting rule of the NCAA, a conference, or a state association, or to extract profile data by any automated means. Misuse ends access permanently.

No Guarantee, No Agency

A profile on The Tape is a place to put film. It is not a promise that any coach will see it, that any offer will follow, or that it will affect an athlete’s eligibility or standing in any way. D1Ball is not an agent, advisor, or representative of any athlete, family, coach, or school, and nothing here is recruiting advice. You are responsible for knowing and following the rules that apply to you.

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. D1Ball DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR THAT ANY INFORMATION IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR CURRENT.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, D1Ball AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SITE OR ANY INFORMATION ON IT, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless D1Ball and its operators from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Site, any User Content you submit, or your violation of these Terms.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
